Summer Musical Theatre Intensive

ACMA Summer Theatre is a musical theatre intensive class for students of all levels of ability and experience. From first time performers to seasoned veterans, we strive to provide a fun and rewarding musical theatre experience for everyone. The class was founded in 2010 as a musical review and skill-building class. In 2013 we staged our first full-length musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, in a black box setting. 2014 saw our first main stage production, Children of Eden. From our original class of 6 students, we have grown to a cast that can accommodate 30 or more. Fundamentally, we believe that anyone who wants to experience the excitement and joy of performing in musical theatre should have the opportunity to do so. Everyone who signs up will be on stage and have the opportunity to learn every aspect of musical theater production from singing and acting to costumes and props to production planning and marketing. More than these skills, however, we hope that students walk away more confident and open to exciting and challenging experiences both on and off stage.
