Meet the Directors

It takes a village to raise a show, and that village begins here with our directors. They are a group of dedicated individuals committed to bringing the joy of musical theatre to anyone and everyone they can. You can read more about each of them below.

Brian Bertram
Director

Mr. Bertram has been involved in theatre as far back as he can remember.  Performing, studying, and directing, he has had a wide range of opportunities to express his love of the craft.  In recent years at ACMA, he has directed Little Shop of Horrors and Greater Tuna, and co-directed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Children of Eden in the summer program. He was also involved in several of ACMA's mainstage productions as assistant director and vocal director. He is excited for any chance to share his passion for musical theatre.

Alana Bertram
Director

Mrs. Bertram was involved in theatre in her younger years, but strayed a bit to focus on music and other interests. However, musical theatre was always in her heart waiting for a chance to shine again. She became involved with ACMA theatre with The Apple Tree in 2009 and co-founded the summer theatre class in 2010. She has enjoyed watching the program grow to perform full-length musicals in 2013 with The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and to a main stage show in 2014 with Children of Eden, and looks forward to many more years of summer fun.

Jody DeHaven
Music director

Jody DeHaven is a music teacher by trade and an invaluable member of the AMCA Summer Theatre team by nature. She has been accompanying ACMA's musical productions during the school year since 2008 and joined the summer program with our first full-length musical in 2013.
